Retro Gaming News 078: Super Mario Bros HF 2

By : Luis Zena

"Description

This is the second hack from HF Games, and the most important thing we wanted to accomplish was playability. The difficulty was made to be very comparable to the original Super Mario Bros, and this is a game you can pick up and play without needing to be a master of Super Mario Bros.

The hack is a complete level hack, with a few minor graphic modifications.

If you’d like, you can play the game online before you decide to download the hack! Just check out the website: http://sites.google.com/site/hfgames where through the magic of technology, you can play both the original hack and our sequel online!

Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoy the hack!"

Black Friday Madness!

By : Luis Zena

So I decided to go to the Black Friday sales and found nothing but madness. I did took a couple of photos as you can see and ended up finding a bargain after all ^_^

Me and my brother decided to hit the shops although we left a little late, we did managed to find gold at Hhgreg ^_^

As we got in, we both ran off to what we were supposed to get. He wanted a tablet and I wanted a TV so I ran to the TV section and picked up a 40" sexyness! Oh man I was so happy!
The line took almost two hours for some reason....OMG There were only ten people ahead of me and somehow each one took forever especially this family of bastards who kept trying their maxed out credit cards until finally one went through. I mean really, if you don't have the cash then get the fuck out of here! Stupid morons! Took them like half an hour to check out.

Totally worth it!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'm one happy mad gamer!! har har har! Hope all of you had a great Black Friday! I sure did! Oh yeah, not in the picture is a portable camera that records video and what not. Totally awesome!!! Very handy for certain missions! A new gadget in my hands!!

Retro Game of the Week 095: Contra (NES)

By : Luis Zena

For this week's pick we have a game that shouldn't need any introduction. Contra is probably one of the most amazing games ever created. Its replay value is phenomenal especially when you play with a friend. The game itself has a very interesting story behind it especially when we talk about the European release Probotector. The game even has a very famous code named after the company who released it. There is a lot more interesting facts about this game but lets look at it from the different fields we set up for it.

By : Luis Zena
So for this week's pick we have Butterbeer! I had to get the cup for it as well! A nice souvenir I took home with me from the trip to Universal Studios. As usual, 3DS owners should click the 3DS link for the full experience. I took this pic while I was in one of the shoppes in the Harry Potter island.

Retro Gaming News 077: The World Ends With You fandub now available!

By : Luis Zena

"Three years ago, a group of fans, under the name of TWEWYTeam released a Spanish translation for The World Ends With You, for the Nintendo DS. It successfully adapted all the texts and a 90% of the graphics into Spanish.

But that translation had something special: It was the first time in Spain that someone romhacked a dubbing into a game. At that point, only the FMVs were dubbed.

Now, three years later, some of the members of TWEWYTeam, along with plenty of new people and with over sixteen voice actors, released The World Ends With You Versión en Castellano (Spanish Edition) 2.0.

This new version changes quite a lot of the texts, improving many of the lines of the game; adds all the missing graphics that were left untranslated before; but the best part is that now the in game lines are completely dubbed with professional quality, thanks to some of the perpetrators of the Time Crisis dub project.

As usual, pictures won’t show the quality of the work, so here’s a sample of the lines of each character.
